For Dimplex Renewables theres nothing new about renewables. As part of the worldwide Glen  Dimplex Group, Dimplex has been producing innovative heat pumps for over 30 years, with  thousands of installations throughout Europe.

Dimplex Renewables are  committed to developing heating  solutions which utilise sustainable  and renewable energy with the  aim of reducing CO2 emissions  and its impact on the  environment.  From its manufacturing plants in  Newry and Kulmbach, Germany,  Dimplex Renewables produces  the widest range of heat pumps  available on the Irish and UK  markets and leads the way in the  development of energy efficient  heat pump technologies. This  R&D has been spearheaded by a  recent investment in Ireland of  £10,000,000 which sees its  Global R&D centre for renewable  technology located there.  Over the years, Dimplex has  established strong relationships  with its customer base, and it is  due to this close support with  accredited installer Willis  Renewables and specifiers Gary  Bennett that Dimplex heat pumps  were specified on the Giants  Causeway project.  Not only did the  variety of the  technology available  but the quality of the  technical back-up,  based locally with a  project planning  department in  Germany, meant the  engineering solution  was developed in a  very comprehensive  manner.  No other company  can provide the  depth of range,  expertise and local service backup  for economical and  sustainable heat pump solutions,  along with being the only  manufacturer of heat pumps on  the Island of Ireland.  There were two types of ground  source heat pumps employed on  the Giants Causeway project.  The heat is provided for by three  24 kW high efficiency ground  source heat pumps. These high  output 3 phase ground source  heat pumps provide a flexible  range of solutions for higher  capacity heating systems.  All models utilise a heat pump  manager, allowing independent  control over multiple heating  circuits at differing flow  temperatures while incorporating  twin compressors, enabling them  to flexibly and efficiently adapt to  fluctuating heat demand by  automatically switching between  single and dual compressor  modes depending on the outside  temperature and heat demand of  the building.  There are a range of nine models  with nominal heating capacities  from 17 – 130kW with variable  heating water flow temperatures  from 35°C – 60°C with weather  compensation.  The second unit employed was  an 11 kW high temperature unit,  The high temperature ground  source range provides flow  temperatures up to 70°C enabling  legionella protection without the  need for supplementary heating.  The ground collector for this unit  will be located in a recycled water  tank as a further energy saving  measure.  Dimplex Renewables are fully  committed to the Irish and UK  market and can provide an  unprecedented level of pre and  post project support.
