Thursday 3rd October 2013 10am -10.10am: Federation of Master Builders – Address to the Industry 10.20 – 11am: Royal Society of Ulster Architects – Peter Monaghan Convenor of the RSUA Sustainability Committee. Seminar Title – Six Steps to Achieving Sustainable Buildings: New & Existing. 11.20 – 12pm: SSQ – Natural Slate Tiles CPD Title: Why Specify Natural Slate for Roofing and Cladding. The CPD describes the most energy efficient solutions and best practice when designing and installing a MVHR System. 6 – 6.40pm: Creagh Concrete CPD Title: Developments in Precast Flooring Technology. We will also include within the presentation a detailed overview of our innovative new preinsulated ground floor system called SpanTherm, the CPD will share information regarding the various types of commercial and residential precast floors available and overview various technical elements to be considered by designers when specifying precast flooring, we also present an overview of recent innovations in flooring systems developed to meet changing building regulation requirements. Friday 4th October 2013 10am – 10.10am: Federation of Master Builders – Address to the Industry 10.20 – 11am: Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists Seminar Title – An Introduction to: BIM (Building Information Modeling), Developing, Time, Cost and Quality. 11.20 – 12pm: Bullivant Taranto Ltd CPD Title: Dealing with the Ground – Managing foundations on Geo-Technically challenging sites. A seminar on how to deal with challenging sites in an economical and efficient way, primarily in brown field sites. 12.20 – 1pm: Wall Cladding Services CPD Title: Antimicrobial hygienic Wall Cladding.

How Antimicrobial Wall Cladding helps in the Infection Control Battle. 2 – 2.40pm: Lagan Cement Products Ltd CPD Title: Calcium Sulphate Flowing Floor Screed. By attending this presentation, participants will gain a clear understanding of CA Flowing Screed and awareness of the issues to be considered in design and specification, and how they may benefit from the advantages of CA Flowing Screed in future projects. 3 – 3.40pm: Advanced Timbercraft CPD Title: Delivering Airtightness & Intelligent Vapour Control in Buildings. It is now accepted that to realise low energy buildings high levels of airtightness combined with a robust ventilation strategy is essential. Intelligent airtightness membranes prevent airleakage and condensation and also facilitate rapid drying. This improves building durabilty and reduces the risk of mould within buildings. Niall will present a range of airtightness solutions for both timberframe and masonry contruction and outline how to combine high levels of airtightness with increased saftey against condensation and mould within the building envelope. 4 – 4.40pm: Xtratherm CPD Title: Fabric Performance for Part F and the Code for Sustainable Homes. The CSH has been set as the footprint for future changes to Eng & Wales Part L – which will no doubt be the template for changes to our own Part F as it has been in the past; but what’s interesting this time around is that the performances for

‘Zero Carbon’ fabric (2019) have been defined – so I’ll be able to let participants know what to do to: 1. Achieving the new Part F, and 2. How close these changes bring us towards the end game I will concentrate initially on showing a compliance specification concentrating on fabric U-values, airtightness and thermal bridging, which is now a major issue for compliance for Part F. 6 – 6.40pm: Velta UK Saturday 5th October 2013 10am -10.10am: Federation of Master Builders – Address to the Industry 10.20 – 11am: International Synergies Ltd Seminar Title – There is no such thing as Waste. This short interactive workshop will examine a number of “wastes” arising in construction and illustrate how these can be eliminated or recovered. 11.20 – 12pm: QBM Ltd CPD Title: Firestone RubberGard Flat Roofing Systems. The CPD gives an introduction into Firestone Roofing Systems; it covers current market facts and trends in the roofing industry, and it gives an analysis of the technical performance of EPDM. The Future of Modern Building – 2 steps to achieve Superior Performing Modern Buildings. 1.50 – 2.30pm: British Gypsum CPD Title: The CPD will cover the “GYPROC range of Plaster and Plasterboard, including internal light weight GYPFRAME metal stud partitions with the ISOVER range of insulation providing high performance levels of Acoustic, Thermal and Airtightness to meet the current building regulations”.
