Northwards Housing manages City Council Hom es in north Manchester, and has built an enviable reputation for utilising energy efficient and environmentally friendly technologies in their housing refurbishment projects and new build developments.
So it will come as no surprise that the company has been one of the first organisations to embrace and utilise brand new radiator technology from the UK’s leading radiator manufacturer, Stelrad Radiators.
Duncan Edwards Court has a new heating system, run from a state of the art boiler house and plant room which houses all the necessary equipment to ensure the heating system offers the most energy efficient approach available to the landlord and its residents.
The system is an integrated renewables system that includes solar thermal panels, a ground source heat pump designed to utilise seven 120 metre deep boreholes, a ‘back up’ boiler system and a series of new Stelrad ‘Radical’ radiators. These are the first serial feed radiators available in the UK and they offer a 10.5% saving in energy costs whilst maintaining acceptable levels of heating in each of the apartments.
Full details of the Radical and other options available from Stelrad can be found at www.stelrad.com or by calling 0870 849 8056.
