Optimised Choice In Roof Protection

Avoidance of the risk of condensation in the roofspace is being optimised with additions to Glidevale’s brand-leading Protect range of vapour permeable membranes. Enabling specifiers and contractors to achieve the best performance possible in line with budgetary considerations, the new options – Protect VPTEC 3 and Protect VP300 – offer all the established benefits of the Protect range to reduce harmful condensation risk in the roofspace in line with BS5250.

A heavier membrane than standard VP underlays, Protect VPTEC 3 offers enhanced strength and can accommodate rafter centres up to 900mm. Protect VP300 compliments Protect Zytec in the midweight range, with a water vapour resistance of 0.17MNs/g. As with the entire Glidevale range of Protect Type LR underlays, the new materials offer a completely waterproof UV and heat resistant barrier with excellent nail tear and tensile strength. Their ease of cutting further simplifies installation. All can be used as a temporary roof covering for up to three months. Glidevale Protect vapour permeable membranes also carry unrestricted use with regard to wind uplift in all exposure conditions in the UK and Ireland, and do not generate noise under wind loading.
