The Cool Water Diverter
This innovative product is one of the most economical ways of saving water. It is a small mechanical valve that does not use electricity, a pump or button, to divert cold water. The Cool Water Diverter will divert the cool water from your shower / taps to a pre determined source like your storage tank, rain water harvesting system or water butt. The valve is installed close to an area where hot water is used and will only allow the water run freely once it reaches normal hot water temperatures. A small dribble of water is released to indicate the valve is working and once the hot water arrives at the tap, a full flow is allowed through. With the dead leg containing anything from 5- 35L of water, significant reductions in water consumption are achieved. The Cool Water Diverter can service a single tap – like the kitchen sink, or multiple taps close together – like the bathroom.
