Uponor Launches New Q&E System

Uponor has launched its new Q&E complete plumbing system in the UK, offering a direct alternative to copper and plastic push-fit systems for heating, hot water and cold water services.

The revolutionary new jointing system relies on the memory of Uponor’s PEX pipe and uses a specialist tool to rapidly expand the diameter of the pipe and Q&E ring to secure the fitting. The subsequent joint becomes watertight within seconds. The Q&E system offers all the cost and installation benefits of push-fit in terms of speed of installation, but with a more robust joint.

This directly eliminates the potential for leakages and, more importantly, the issue of tampering which pushfit systems are susceptible to.

What’s more, the Q&E system avoids the need for any hot work such as soldering and does not possess the same corrosion risk as copper. There is also no potential for theft of copper pipe. Uponor’s Q&E system is suitable for a wide range of domestic and commercial applications. It can also be adapted to fit other heating systems.

The Q&E is an all-plastic plumbing system also uses durable PPSU (Polyphenalsulfone Radel R 5100) fittings which are available as couplings, reducers, elbows, tees, tap connectors and M/F threaded adaptors and is WRAS approved.
